Key Features
Wildcard search
Enables a user to substitute one or more letters of a search word with an asterisk. Visitors can search effectively for names and products without knowing the exact spelling, so that no options are missed.
Metadata search
Search through any metadata in any list, or attached to any document, or use the BDC to integrate to metadata from other parts of your enterprise infrastructure.
Boolean search
Naturally, Ontolica Search also allows users to apply the AND/ OR/NOT (Boolean) search operators improving the query handling search features available with Microsoft SharePoint.
Drill down search
Ontolica for SSE dynamically analyzes the properties assigned to each search result, and applies logic to recommend the properties will most likely provide a successful search.
Improved Advanced Search
Ontolica Search provides improved advanced search facilities through the Property Filters. A property can typically be assigned a number of searchable values. For example, the property “energy source” could have the following searchable values: “Electric power,” “fossil fuels,” and “fusion.”
Users can enter property values in a free text search fi eld in standard Microsoft SharePoint. The dynamic look-up field in Ontolica Search suggests matching property values as you type. Ontolica Search extends this capability so that property values can also be displayed in a drop-down box, making it easy to pick the allowed property values for filtering the search.
